ANTARES is a German company, engineering and developing wireline logging tools for over 25 years. We currently have some 25 engineers, scientists and technicians working in 3 countries. Stringent testing procedures and extensive quality control are key to our daily business and customer’s satisfaction. Our experienced team not only offers a large range of logging tools, they are also experienced at finding customized solutions for the special challenges of our clients. We support our customers at all levels and at all stages of the service lifetime of the equipment.
Our customers are located worldwide and work in a large variety of industries: oil and gas, cavern storage, mining, water management and marine research.
ANTARES offers a complete system, consisting of an ‘easy-to-use’ surface acquisition system as well as reliable and ruggedized down hole logging tools. ANTARES is also a ‘one-stop-shop’. We are capable of producing anything up to a fully equipped logging truck or offshore logging unit to you. If you let us know what equipment you require, we can deliver the complete set fully equipped to any location you require.
Discover the ‘German Engineering’ difference!
For mining operations, groundwater surveys or scientific applications ANTARES offers All-In-One Instruments. Examples are the popular Multipurpose Instrument MPI (GR, SP, Resistivity and Temperature) or the Combined Flowmeter Tool CFT (Conductivity, Pressure, Temperature and Flowmeter). A wide range of custom made electric winches complete the logging system offering.
New Equipment - New Logging Engineers - Qualification of your personnel
There are several reasons for training!
ANTARES offers tailor-made training to suit individual customer needs.
The excellent training conditions at the ANTARES facilities allow us to offer training with practical lessons for all applications.
You will find at ANTARES
Several experienced ANTARES logging and maintenance engineers are available to provide trainings courses in three languages (English, German, and Russian).
Example: Training for New Equipment
For customers with new ANTARES equipment, we recommend a 2 Phase Approach:
1st Phase Training at ANTARES facilities
2nd Phase Commissioning at customers base and wellsite
For the second consecutive year, ANTARES has been solicited by TOTAL to take part in the training of their young geoscientists. As a major player, Antares have induced them to its equipment. The objective was to explain the geophysical measurements of the various instruments and to demonstrate certain tasks of a logging engineer to future well site geologists. The course was well received by all participants.
ANTARES joins the SUGAR III Research project funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
Sugar - Submarine Gas Hydrate Resources.
The joint project aligns German universities, research institutes and technology companies to investigate new technology for the research, exploration and extraction of submarine hydrate resources. They also investigate new concepts for gas transport. The hydrate extraction is coupled with a reposition (sequestration) of CO2 in sea sediments to minimize the possible impact on the environment of the hydrate removal.
The third phase of this project has currently started and focuses on key technologies for the exploration and production of methane gas from marine gas hydrates.
Within this frame, ANTARES has won a grant for R&D to develop a memory acoustic instrument, which will be used in transportable sea floor drilling rigs such as the MeBo200, developed by MARUM.
Fig. Application of the ANTARES memory acoustic instrument
The acoustic instrument will provide valuable information regarding the lithology with possible gas bearing intervals.
Highly-automated measurement processes, short length of the instrument, high data-storage capacities and high resolution are the key features for the design.
